I don’t know about you, but I don’t think it gets much better than eating a popsicle in the backyard on a hot summer afternoon or evening! And while I have nothing against store bought popsicles, I do love the idea of having a treat that is more balanced by including some protein and fat. These two components make the treat satisfy our hunger longer and provide more sustained energy.
I want to share two popsicle that I love making in the summer time!! They are so easy and delicious and the ingredients can be swapped for other flavors!
If you’re making popsicles at home, it is helpful to have a popsicle tray. I have one similar to this and I love it!
The first recipe I have uses tart cherry juice, which has anti-inflammatory benefits as well as can help aid with ease of falling asleep. BUT, you can use any other type of juice you want!
Tart Cherry Popsicles
Ingredients:
2 cups Greek yogurt
3/4 cup milk (or milk alternative)
3/4 cup tart cherry juice
a dash of vanilla extract
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
How to:
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.
Pour into popsicle molds. Fill molds about 3/4 of the way full. Add in popsicle sticks.
Freeze until frozen
Enjoy!
The second recipe is similar to a fudgesicle! You can swap flavors or milk or pudding for a different flavor!
Fudgesicle
Ingredients:
2x 11.5 oz bottles of Fairlife Chocolate Milk
1 package of pudding mix
1/4 cup chocolate chips
How to:
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.
Pour into popsicle molds. Fill molds about 3/4 of the way full. Add in popsicle sticks.
Freeze until frozen
Enjoy!
I hope these can add some fun to your summer!!!
